The best part about being Olivia’s mommy is watching her get her mind blown.😜 (inside I giggle so hard)

She wanted to touch EVERYTHING at the American Girl store. I hadn’t been there in years and I thought it would be fun to check out on a Saturday afternoon. 💗

Quite frankly, my head was spinning in the dang store too! There was dolls, doll toys, the doll’s doggies (Olivia’s FAV!), a nail and hair salon for the kids and dolls to get appointments together, a cafe, a bookstore & the biggest dollhouse you’ve ever seen PLUS -1 MILLION places to take cute pictures! 📸

To say it was a fun afternoon adventure, would be an absolute understatement. 🥰

Recently I was coaching another Hairstylist and this is what she told me⬇️

-The hours I work now are too long.

-I have way too many services I offer and I don’t like that.

-I’m afraid to raise my prices too much in fear that I’ll loose clients.

-I’ve had too many cancellations and it’s exhausting.

-I’m having a hard time reframing my mindset to new thoughts that serve me better.

-I want to be proactive with my online presence but it’s exhausting and feels like a part time job.

-I don’t have the right verbiage when it comes to talking about my business to my clients.

Question: Do you ever run out of things to say when your clients are in your chair?✂️✂️✂️

Of course NOT! As Hairstylist, we chat it up. All. Day. Long.

So then, WHY would it be hard to “talk” online when we’re creating social media posts? 🤔

Here’s the reasons I see/hear when I’m coaching a fellow stylist:

➡️ “I’m not sure what to post.”

➡️ “I’m not sure my pictures are good enough to post.”

➡️ “I’ve gotten lazy with posting.”

➡️ “It’s too time consuming.”

➡️ “I see so many other accounts and theirs looks better than mine.”

➡️ “I don’t know what to say in my captions.”

ALL of this is perfectionism at its FINEST! Here’s some good news for you if you can relate to ANY of the above. 4-6 % of your followers will see a post you share.

For example: If you have 100 followers online, only 5 followers will see a post. That means there’s NO need for perfectionism because there’s a small chance people will actually SEE the post you share anyway! 👀

On the flip side, that’s also why we need to be as consistent with creating content that speaks to our ideal clients. The more you post, the more likely they’ll see your posts!

In addition, mix up those posts! Share things like this: before & after pictures with a client testimonial added to the caption, your fav product and how to use it on your hair, how you prepare/get organized for the day. 🎉

Once someone lands on your account and sees 15 pictures of your amazing work, they know you’re an awesome stylist! So share more of YOU so your followers FEEL something when they land on your page. 😍

Drop the word “GUIDE” below for a simple 5 step guide on how to turn followers into customers. 👏🏻

What’s something you could do for hours and neve

What’s something you could do for hours and never get sick of?

For me, it’s nurturing, growing and maintaining my business! I do it as often as possible and I never get tired of it! 💗

Lately, a big chunk of the work I get done is when Olivia is taking her 3 hour afternoon nap. The house is quiet, my honey is at work and I’ve usually just finished having my fruit smoothie so I’m energized and in my work zone. 💙

My favorite part is definitely dreaming up the next big step/plan/strategy! I definitely am the visionary when it comes to my business. 🙌🏻

For example, in the last few weeks there’s been some HUGE mental breakthroughs/ah-ha moments with the stylists inside my Monthly Membership program. We’re brainstorming together as a community and they are taking action! I’m not terribly surprised though because they are savvy, smart business owners. 🥰

But enough about me! What’s something you lose track of time doing?

Well this was fun! 💃🏻

@katibaker313 is a CEO of her own company and a momma of 4. 🙌🏻 She’s been wearing permanent extensions since her first child was born -10 years ago- and wanted to give her hair a break from wearing them.

I suggested we try a hairstyling lesson with her custom clip-in extensions that she purchased from me 13 years ago for her wedding. 💗

During the 90 minute training, we discussed how to:

✅clip in her extensions so they don’t damage her hair and stay in securely all day/night

✅ tease her hair so it stays full for 8+ hours (most people don’t know how to do this)

✅ pin her hair half up using professional bobby pins

✅ do a low messy bun

✅ sport a full topknot

✅ secure a full ponytail

What she left with was: confidence, a Glamhairus Wondercomb, pictures to refer back to, professional bobby pins and EXCITEMENT!

She even said class was a 10 out of 10! Woo-hoo!🎉
